Addressing global problems like ensuring international security, dissolving interregional disputes, and promoting environmentally responsible and sustainable economic development require international cooperation. Given that the world has now entered an era of globalization, with the world feeling smaller each day due to advances in communications technology, increased ease of migration, increased economic dependence etc., countries must work together to identify shared interests and work together towards the common goal of improving the world. For these reasons, China sees its efforts to improve it mutual understanding with other countries and international institutions as beneficial not only to China but also to the world.
The Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences is proud to be a leading national think tank and to have contributed many studies to the Chinese Communist Party over the past sixty years in an effort to promote better international partnership between China and the world. At the domestic level, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Think Tank Foundation supports fellow Chinese think tanks in their research with the goal of adding new voices and ideas to the national conversation. SASS TTF also works together with international foundations, think tanks, universities, government departments, think tanks, and commercial organizations to open a dialogue about China’s role in international matters.
