Prof. Li received his MA from Xiangtan University in 2004 and Ph.D. in International Relations from Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Science (GACASS) in 2008. From July 2004 to March 2013, he served as lecturer and then associate professor in Xiangtan University. In April 2013, he joined SASS Institute of International Relations as an associate research fellow and was promoted as research fellow in the end of 2015, as deputy director of think tank coordination office in December 2017. He was the visiting scholar of Asian Center in University of the Philippines (Mar.-Sep., 2015) and the visiting research fellow of the Asan Institute for Policies Studies in Seoul from August to December, 2016.

His research interests include China’s foreign strategy, East Asian Security, OBOR initiative, Non-traditional security and International Relations theories. He has published three monographs: Identity, National Revival and China’s Foreign Strategy(2011), Human, State and Security Governance (2012) and Third Parties and Conflict Management in East Asia(2018). He published dozens of research articles in World Economics and Politics,American Studies Quarterlyand Foreign AffairsReview, etc. He has been the columnist of Global TimesChina Youth Dailyand World Affairs, etc and written a large number of reviews on international affairs.
